Congress’s Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi will not address an election rally in Mahendragarh, Haryana on Friday and now her son and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address the rally. Sonia Gandhi did not campaign in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to her poor health. This was his first rally after returning as Interim Congress President.
The party had also released a detailed program, stating that she would address a public meeting at the Government College Sports Complex in Mahendragarh on Friday. A party source said that Sonia will not be able to attend the rally due to her ill health. The party said that Rahul Gandhi will address the public meeting in Mahendragarh at 2 pm. Significantly, Haryana and Maharashtra are to vote for the assembly elections on October 21, for which all parties are busy campaigning vigorously.
