The Chief Minister also appealed to the people to stay alert and stay indoors as far as possible during inclement weather. More than 100 people have died due to lightning in the last one week in the state.
Meanwhile, many meteorologists have believed that the combination of above-normal temperatures in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and moist winds from the Bay of Bengal created “instability” in the atmosphere. In the last fortnight, 150 people died in large-scale incidents due to lightning in these two states (Eastern UP and Bihar).
