According to Acharya Indu Prakash, let me tell that she is called Skandmata, being the mother of Skanda Kumar, ie Kartikeya, who is called the commander of the gods. Skandmata maintains her grace on her devotees in the same way that any mother maintains on her children. Therefore, in order to maintain the grace of the Mother Goddess and for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the family, she must be worshiped on this day.
