New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah said on the Delhi assembly elections that we do not contest elections only to win or lose. The BJP is a party that believes in the expansion of its ideology.

Amit Shah said that statements like ‘Goli Maro’ and ‘India-Pakistan match’ should not have been made, the party kept itself away from such statements. My assessment of the Delhi elections proved to be wrong. The Congress has divided the country on the basis of religion. The BJP may have suffered from the hateful statements of party leaders.

The Home Minister said that there is no mandate for the CAA and NRC for the results of the Delhi Assembly elections. Amit Shah said, who should discuss the CAA, ask for time from my office, I will discuss it within three days. Like CAA, there was a provision for long term visas which was created in 1964.

Shah said that opposition to CAA should be discussed but there should also be a discussion as to why this protest is happening? Under which provision do they think this ant is Muslim? Elections are held for many parties, to form a government and to topple the government.

The issue even today is that how should anyone be opposed and for what. Just as those who support Shaheen Bagh have the right to express their views. Similarly, we also have the right to express our views and we did that.

I am in politics since the age of 13, my personal is nothing, which is good for the country, that is mine. When I joined BJP in 1980-81, we had only two seats at that time, today we have come here after traveling a long way.
