Tamil film Master’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj stated that the film featuring superstar Vijay in the lead role will be released only when the theatres open in India.
Lokesh reacted to the ongoing rumours of releasing the film on an OTT platform.
He said there is no change in the fact that Master will be releasing only when the ban on theatres get lifted in India.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, theatres have been shut down all over the country since mid-March 2020.
Many filmmakers went the digital way to reach out to the audience with their movies.
Master film also features Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah and Vijay Sethupathi in important roles.
The film is headed for a Pongal 2021 if by then the coronavirus situation has been improved and the ban on theatres gets lifted.
Lokesh is also going to direct Kamal Haasan in his upcoming Tamil movie, which was announced last week.
