Mumbai: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone may arrive here from Goa on Thursday before appearing before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in view of which police personnel have been deployed outside her house. An official gave this information.
The NCB, which is probing the alleged links between Bollywood and narcotics, has sent a summons to Padukone asking them to record the statement on Friday. A Dadar police team has been posted as a precaution outside ‘Byomonde Towers’ in Prabhadevi, where 34-year-old Padukone’s apartment is located, the official said.
The officer said that earlier, Karikma Prakash, manager of Padukone, was also summoned for questioning, but he has sought time for production citing health reasons. She will not be able to appear on Friday. Sources in NCB said that Prakash’s WhatsApp chat also included a conversation in which he had talked to someone named ‘D’ about drugs. The central agency is ascertaining who the person was.
