The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has launched an eight-week alternative academic calendar for classes 9 to 12.
Designed by NCERT, the calendar aims to utilize technology and social media tools to enhance education of students while they study from home.
The minister wrote on Twitter, “Launched the Alternative Academic Calendar (AAC) for the next 8 weeks for the secondary stage today. Alternative Academic Calendar for 12 weeks for primary & upper primary stages and AAC for secondary & higher secondary stages for 4 weeks had already been released.”
In the current Unlock 4 phase, schools can be reopened partially for students who are in class 9 to 12 from 21 September 2020.
The students visiting the schools to solve their queries or doubts are on voluntary basis.
Interestingly, the calendar has week-wise plans that will include activities related to theme/chapter taken from syllabus or textbook.
